I don’t think I’d call it a successful trip.

Yesterday, I went shopping for ome new clothes.  Well, actually, I went shopping for a bathing suit, but I quickly abandonded that and instead found myself trying on shirts.  And all I can say is, WTF is up with all the shirts that look like maternity shirts?  I mean, while I was thankful for gathered and pleated shirts that tied in the back when I was pregnant, I am not really looking for the same look now that I am not pregnant.  I dislike the whole thing especially because they may make me look like I am pregnant, and who wants to be asked “When are you due?” when you are not due AT ALL?  Who, I ask?!

Also, I am very upset with the whole long and lean t-shirt thing, especially when paired with low rise jeans.  The combination makes me look like I have a torso that is a mile long, and legs that are midget-sized.  They make me look very disproportionate, is what I’m saying.  Also, I am nowhere near long and lean.  I am more like short and squat.

I did manage to find some nice fitting t-shirts — two, to be exact — and bought them quicker than you can say THANK GOD!  And while I was trying to find something other than my usual mom uniform of t-shirts and jeans, it looks like it just isn’t in the cards for me.  Because that’s exactly what I have, and what I am wearing right this very minute.

Also, I bought a cream colored leather purse — satchel-style.  I am very much in love with it, but too scared to use it because I’m worried that I’ll get it dirty.  I just can’t win.

i agree about the shirts!!! those flow-y shirts are only good if you are stick thin. i usually just buy my graphic t’s from AE, but the last bunch they got in all had little puckers on the sleeve caps and i think i’m a little old for that!!!! i wear jeans & t shirts every single day. i’m not even comfortable in anything else……..oh well!
