Variety I can do without.

‘Tis the season to have a cold.

I caught the first cold back when my son had pneumonia.  Let me see…that was…several weeks ago?  I’m not really sure when it was — a search of my archives would tell me, but right now I’m too lazy to look — but I know that it was in November sometime.  Anyway, I had my first cold then.  I got better.  I caught another cold (or had a relapse.)  Then I felt better, again.  And now, again, I’ve caught a cold.

This is the third cold/relapse I’ve had.  Yesterday afternoon, after declaring myself sick and my husband saying something along the lines of “You. Are. Not. Allowed. To. Be. Sick!” I truly felt like this was the big one.  It was either a really nasty cold or *gasp* the flu.  And after I managed to get the children to bed, I skipped watching the new Harry Potter DVD with B and went directly to bed.  (Oh, I managed a little nip of the ‘Quil too.  Because if you are sick, you need the ‘Quil.)  However, upon awakening, I have realized that it is not the big one — no flu in sight — and that I just have another little cold.

But you know, each cold I’ve had has has it’s own unique set of symptoms.  I had a dry cough with the first, terrible sinus pain with the second, and this one is of the scratchy throat, runny nose variety.  So I guess if I’m going to be sick, having a little variety is a nice thing(?)  Maybe?
